Kallidaikurichi Adhi Varaha Perumal Temple
The temple of Aadi Varaha is a very powerful temple situated in the heart of the village of Kallidaikurichi. There are two prakaras in the temple. The structure belongs to the 15th century CE. In the east facing Sanctorum, there is an idol of Varaha sitting on his left lap holding Lakshmi.
Kubera is the God of Wealth. He descended to earth to get rid of a curse he got. After worshipping Shiva in various temples, he wanted to devote himself to Lord Vishnu. So, he made an idol of Lord Vishnu and installed it on the bank of River Tambirabharani and worshiped it. Over time, the place vanished. The Lord appeared in a devotee’s dream and revealed His presence in the area. The devotee discovered the idols. Later, the temple was constructed. Lord Adhi Varaha sits in a sitting posture on a lotus-shaped stage – Padma Peeta – with Mother Bhooma devi on His lap and looks at Him. Since the Lord is always with Mother, he is praised as Nitya Kaliana Perumal – Perumal always in wedding style. This is why the place is called Kalyani Puri.
The famous composer and musician Sri Muthuswamy Dishithar wrote many songs on Adhi Varaha Perumal. The temple has many Garuda Sevas, as many devotees hold this event as their religious obligation. There is a Garuda Perumal shrine in vimana-tower, above Sanctorum. The main Garudaazhwar is located on the western wall of the temple. On Aadi month – July-August – on the Swati star day, devotees offer special Tirumanjanams and pujas to him, dressed in flowers.
Manimuthar Dam
Manimuthar Dam, one of the largest dams in Tamil Nadu, is located 16 km from the Papanasam panchayat and 45 km (about 27.96 mi) from the town of Manimuthar. There are several public transport services to this place on a regular basis from the nearby town of KailidaiKurichi.
Manimuthar falls is a natural waterfall that cascades down 25 feet from the top of the dam into a pond. It is located on the banks of the Manimuthar river, which is the main tributary of the Thamira Bharani. This dam is a great place for picnics, as it has a beautiful garden and a tranquil atmosphere. Boating is one of the best things to do in this dam.
Arulmigu Nellaiappar Temple Tirunelveli
Nellaiappar Temple, a popular Hindu temple, is located on the banks of the Thamira Barani River in Tirunelveli, 4 km from Tirunelveli Railway Station. Sri His Nellaiapar temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to history, both the gopurams were built by Pandya’s and the temple sanctum was built by Nendrashiru his Nedumaran who ruled Tirunelveli in his 7th century. This is one of his Pancha Sava (copper) temples which are worshiped as his five cosmic dance halls of Lord Shiva.
A unique feature of this temple is the ‘Mani Mandapam’ which is located near Nandi His Mandapam. There are his two huge pillars carved from one stone and his 48 secondary pillars, each of which plays a musical note when struck. There are several sacred theertham’s around the temple. The beautiful golden lotus tank, where Lord Shiva appears in the water and Lord Brahma appears as a lotus, attracts the attention of visitors.
Agasthiyar Falls (Papanasam Dam)
Papanasam Falls, also known as Agasthiyar Falls, is a popular waterfall located in the Western Ghats in the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, India. The waterfall is located near Papanasam town and is part of Ambasamudram taluk.

In the central hall, stories from the epic are exhibited. This sabha is one of his five sabhas where Lord Nataraja performed the cosmic dance. Moreover, this temple has many inscriptions related to Chola and Pandya kings.
